This project includes a series of images I produced as a volunteer for CTUL: Centro de Trabajadores Unidos en la Lucha. CTUL wanted to focus on non-unionized construction workers in order to raise awareness of several issues that disproportionally impact workers in that sector. The images were used as part of a social media campaign in early 2021.

Using photographs sourced from the public domain and copy based on CTUL research, I created these images in cooperation with communications staff from the organization. The imagery gives a stark feeling to communicate the seriousness of the subject matter, involving life-or-death safety issues, oppression, and discrimination. After finalizing the copy and images, I produced Spanish-language versions, as much of CTUL’s base of support, as well as the workers they are targeting, is Spanish-speaking.
